Americase International
October 28 – November 1
$48

Event Overview

Americase International will exhibit at the 67th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 28 – November 1, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. FLIBS is one of the largest in-water boat shows in the world, with more t

han 100,000 attendees, 1,000 exhibitors, and 1,300+ vessels on display across the city’s waterfront venues.

Lithium-ion banks, hybrid-electric propulsion, and battery-powered water toys

are now standard aboard today’s yachts. Starting January 1, 2027, UK MCA MGN 681 will require UK-flagged yachts to charge and store lithium batteries over 100 Wh in certified fire-resistant containers. Visit us to see how Americase International engineers containment that holds up under flag, survey, and underwriting review.

Featured at the Booth

Emergency Slide Case
One of our custom aluminum cases, providing lightweight solutions to ensure best strength-to-weight ratio and reducing fuel usage. Our cases are engineered for the transportation of critical parts or as a secure method for storing materials in non-ideal conditions.

The Battery Super Box
The reusable, heavy-duty

aluminum case that automotive OEMs choose for transporting damaged, defective, and recalled lithium cells. It’s built to contain thermal runaway at its worst and sized for onboard storage and charging of smaller lithium batteries and water-toy packs.

Know Before You Stow
Pick up our quick reference chart, Lithium Battery Storage & Charging Requirements for Yachts. It maps UK MGN 681 and class-society rules (Lloyd’s Register, DNV, ABS, BV, RINA) to the requirements that apply to your vessel.

Let’s Talk About

  • Getting ready for MGN 681 before it takes effect on January 1, 2027
  • How ABYC E-13, USCG requirements, and class society rules apply to your install
  • Passive insulated steel, heavy-duty aluminum containment, and more, customizable to your exact needs and reequipments
  • Custom cases for helicopter components, dive/medical oxygen, high-value electronics, and water toys

Who Should Visit

Yacht owners, captains, and engineers; builders and refit yards; designers and naval architects; surveyors, class representatives, and marine underwriters; and anyone responsible for lithium battery storage, charging, or compliance aboard.

The Americase International booth will display the aluminum Emergency Slide Case, engineered for the safe transport and storage of critical components, and the Battery Super Box, built for lithium battery containment. Visitors can also pick up the Know Before You Stow chart of lithium battery storage and charging requirements for yachts.

What is MGN 681, and when does it take effect?
MGN 681 is guidance from the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) on lithium battery safety aboard UK-flagged yachts. Starting January 1, 2027, UK-flagged yachts must charge and store lithium batteries over 100 Wh in certified fire-resistant containers. UK Type Approval by a UK Nominated Body is also required by that date.

Does ABYC E-13 require fire-resistant lithium battery storage on U.S. yachts?
ABYC E-13 covers lithium-ion batteries on boats. It is voluntary in the United States and does not yet set a standard for fire-resistant storage containers. USCG requirements for commercial vessels are already in force. Regulatory experts from HazMat Safety Consulting, an Americase International Company, help owners map ABYC E-13, USCG, and MGN 681 requirements to their specific install.

What lithium battery containment does Americase International offer for yachts?
Americase, an Americase International Company, engineers fire-resistant charging and storage containment built to MGN 681, ABYC E-13, and USCG requirements. Options include passive insulated steel enclosures, heavy-duty aluminum containment, and more. Each is available with monitoring and suppression and configured to the specific yacht.

What is the Battery Super Box?
The Battery Super Box is a reusable, heavy-duty containment and shipping case. It’s rated for batteries up to 5,700 Wh / 399.9 kg and built to contain thermal runaway. Automotive OEMs use it to transport damaged, defective, and recalled lithium cells.

Are Americase containers tested?
Yes. Americase, an Americase International Company, tests its containment in-house through its sister company, Fulcrum Testing, to prove performance against thermal runaway. Every product comes with a documented test record. Americase is AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified.

What else can Americase International help protect aboard a yacht?
Besides lithium batteries, Americase, an Americase International Company, builds custom cases for:

  • Helicopter rotor blades, hubs, and engines
  • Dive and medical oxygen cylinders
  • Oxygen generators
  • High-value electronics
  • Lithium-powered water toys stowed in the tender garage
